if the soil is a little damp and a little dry should i water it?
Also do you have any suggestions on how to grow it?

Water the potting soil to the point that the excess water runs out of the drainage holes. Then allow the top half inch of soil to dry out before watering again. When it does, apply enough water that it runs freely out of the drainage holes in the bottom of the repot. Repeat when the top half inch of potting soil is dry to the touch. Pothos are easy houseplants - they will grow in low light to bright light areas of your home. Hope this provides guidance.
