Cut your mums back now but wait a little longer before pruning your roses. I like to wait until I see fat buds developing on the stems. That signals that the rose has come out of dormancy and is ready to grow. Since pruning promotes lots of new growth, pruning when the plant is just beginning to show signs of life after a winter's rest is the best time to prune. Enjoy your garden!
