when is a good time to start my vegetables seeds inside i live in illinois. |
Your average last frost date is April 24 so you can start your seeds indoors the first week of March. When the seeds germinate they will need 14-16 hours of light each day. I use hooded shoplights with 2 fluorescent tubes, hung about 2 inches above the tops of the plants and move the lights up as the plants grow, always keeping the light source 2 inches above the foliage. Enjoy your garden! |
