We have several plum and cherry trees and bushes. They started to show BLACK KNOT DISEASE recently. Is there a systemic product that might cure it without having to trim off the limbs with the knots? |
Black knot is caused by a fungus so unless you prune to remove the fungus-laden knobs on the branches, you won't be able to adequately control the problem. You can try spraying with Captan to protect the unaffected branches and stems but it won't solve the problem unless you also prune away the affected tree branches. Wish there were an easier solution! |
