cantalope was perfect in every aspect but, was not sweet why? The same goes for the honeydew melon.

The poor quality of your melons may result from damaged or wilting vines, high rainfall, cool weather or a short growing season. If your melon plants looked healthy, you may be growing the wrong types of melons for your growing region. This year look for short season varieties and purchase starter plants with flowers already developing on the plants. This will ensure your plants have ample time to grow and produce sweet fruits.
