I am going to start keeping honey bees and was wondering what would be a safe way to eliminate weeds in my lawn and keep from harming my bees.

Bees will only be attracted to weeds that are flowering so the best defense is to keep weeds from sprouting in the first place, or digging them before they flower and set seeds. I'd opt for using a corn gluten based pre emergent herbicide on the lawn in the late spring. Pre emergents will keep weed seeds from germinating but won't eliminate weeds that have already sprouted. So, pull existing weeds and then apply a pre emergent to help keep your lawn weed free.
