lost all its leaves a bit earlier than other trees in my neighborhood, is this normal? also, when should i see new growth?

Heat and/or water stress during the summer months can prompt a tree to drop its leaves a little earlier than usual. I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point. As the weather warms be sure to give your tree a deep soaking once a week. I suspect you'll see new growth in late March or early April, depending upon the weather. Good luck with your landscape!
