Cutting Roses Back - Knowledgebase Question

Down here in Knoxville, TN, it is starting to warm up and I have not cut back my roses yet. Will I damage them if I do it now? Not sure how long it will stay warm but frost is still to come. All want to do now is prepare them for the season. Should I wait or go ahead before they completely wake up? Thanks

Since you can still get some frosty weather, I'd wait to do any pruning. Pruning can encourage new growth and any new growth that develops now will be susceptible to freezing so you'll have to prune again later in the season. I'd wait until two weeks after your last average frost and prune the roses then.
