|African violets can usually be divided without problem. Unpot your plant and try to pull apart (or cut apart) the two sections. You'll see a whorl of leaves growing from the base of the plant. As long as each division has both leaves and roots attached, it will grow into a separate plant. Repot each division into its own separate pot and you'll have two plants instead of one.
