I tried to grow corn a couple of years ago but I only got ears of corn about 4 inches long. How do I grow corn? I love to eat it!

Corn is a heavy feeder and requires a rich soil well amended with organic matter such as compost or well rotted manure. Plant it when the soil has warmed up a bit, say 65 degrees, putting the seeds about 8 inches apart and the rows about three feet apart; keep it weeded. Ear size depends on variety, too; popcorn may only be about four inches normally, some sweet corn averages about six inches while the more "husky" eared varieties might reach eight or nine inches.
