Wildflowers have a wide variety of germination requirements just as many traditonal garden plants do. One method is to research the specific plants you are trying to grow, another is to observe and try to mimic nature. By this I mean to collect the seed as it ripens (be sure you have the property owner's permission) and if it is an annual, save the seed until the following spring or if it is a perennial, collect the seed when it would normally disperse and plant it in a pot or in a protected spot in the garden and allow it to stratify and germinate naturally.
