|We have a crape jasmine (also known as Carnation of India, Pinwheel Jasmine, or Taber-naemontana Divaricata). We have been unable to find out what type of fertilizer should be used and when. The plant information we have found has only said to fertilize, without specifics!
|Your plant will be happiest with a fertilizer formula that promotes blooming. The three numbers on a fertilizer container refer to the percentages of Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium contained in the mixture. Nitrogen promotes lush, green growth. Phosphorous helps the plant develop strong stems and promotes bloom. Potassium works in combination with the other elements, and helps plants grow healthy root systems. Your Crape Jasmine will get along with an 8-8-8 fertilizer, but will bloom best if fed with a fertilizer with a 10-20-10 ratio. Hope this clears up the confusion!
