Magnolia Tree - Knowledgebase Question

Is the Magnolia Soulangeana Tree also refered to the Saucer Magnolia. I bought a Magnolia tree and I wanted a saucer Magnolia. The person in gardens said the Magnolia Soulangeana is the same. Please let me know if this is correct.

There are so many Magnolia hybrids that it's hard to keep them all straight! Magnolias are either evergreen or deciduous. The deciduous group has two flower types; saucer or star. Magnolia soulangiana is the saucer type. Magnolia kobus or Magnolia stellata are the star types. So, if you have Magnolia soulangiana, you have a saucer type Magnolia.
