Please tell me how far above the soil should I place the grow lights to start my new seeds?

Not all seeds require light to germinate, but they all require bright light once they've sprouted. Keep your seed trays or pots in a warm area until the seeds germinate, then put them under your lights, keeping the source 4" above the tops of the foliage. Move the light source up as the seedlings grow, and keep the lights on 14-16 hours per day, turning them out at night so the plants can rest.
