I had read sometime ago about planting certain flowers around a garden to control insects. Will you please tell me the flowers to use?

There are several plants that repel insects through their strong fragrance. Try any or all of the following, around your vegetable garden to help repel insects: French Marigolds (Tagetes patula), Mints, Rue, Sweet Basil, Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare). Or, interplant the following companion plants: basil with tomato (to repel hornworms), thyme with cabbage (to control cabbage worms), catnip with eggplant (to deter flea beetles), onions with carrots (to control rust flies), horseradish with potatoes (to repel Colorado Potato Beetles), or nasturtiums and cucumbers (to keep cucumber beetles under control). Hope you have a pest-free garden!
