I have deptford pinks in my yard. Have tried to germinate seeds in my perennial bed. No luck. Don't want to move the ones that come up. I remember them in fields on Long Island when I was a kid~! Help please! |
Wildflowers have distinct preferences for growing conditions, so the best way to get them to establish is to mimic those conditions where you find them growing, then import the seed at the time it is ripe and again, sow it when nature would. It may be, for instance, that the soil in your perennial beds is too rich or the pH is not to their liking. |
