All Burpee's varieties are widely adapted. "Coastline" makes me think the area may be quite sandy. Sandy soils leach nutrients and lose organic matter faster than loam or clay soils, so you may need to add organic matter to your soil to improve plant growth. Have you had your soil tested? I recommend it -- you can buy a home test (Burpee has one) or you can have a professional test performed. The benefit of a professional test is that the lab provides recommendations for soil improvement.

If you'd like a recommendation on carrot varieties proven to do well in your region, contact your County Extension Service (ph# 860/887-1608). They can also help you with soil testing info. Enjoy!
