My yellow trumpet vine, now six years old, has many leaves, but few flowers on vine. How can I get this vine to produce more flowers? It is located in a sunny spot climbing a wooden fence.

Trumpet vine is not very demanding as long as it has lots of sun, so be sure you are not fertilizing it with excess nitrogen which would result in lots of foliage and few flowers. Next, trim it back hard in early spring but do not trim it during the growing season as this will remove the new growth or blooming wood. The trimming should stimulate new growth and consequently more blooms. Good luck with your vine this summer!
