I have read that you need more than one variety of blueberry bush for cross-polination. Do all the varieties bloom at the same time? What would the best combination be for North Carolina?

In North Carolina, you can grow highbush blueberry as well as the rabbiteye blueberry (and even a new type called Southern highbush). For cross-pollination you want to select different varieties from the same type (not one rabbiteye and one highbush). It is best to plant more than two varieties to hedge your bet a little. This way you will better overlap the bloom times of different varieties, as some bloom earlier and some later than others.
