|Can red raspberries be grown in Zone 9, Central Florida?
|Yes, but with marginal results. Your best options are the trailing variety, 'Dorman Red', or the upright varieties 'Baba' and 'Heritage'.
Raspberries really suffer in our southern heat. In order to give them their best chance, mix lots of compost into the planting bed and keep them well watered but not soggy. Keep them well mulched to reduce soil temperatures and hold moisture in. If you can give them some mid to late day shade, that can help too.
