|I'm having a hard time starting ancho pepper seeds.
I have used Burpee tomato seed starting soil, and treated the seeds the same as the tomato plants, but no luck. Do I need to start the seeds in a paper towel ? or will less water help? Any sugestion will be helpfull.
|Peppers should be sown about 1/4 inch deep at a warm soil temperature ( 80 degrees if possible) for fastest germination. Keep in mind that the soil temperature will be cooler than the ambient room temperature, and that the cooler the soil the longer it will take. If you can provide some gentle bottom heat (such as that provided by a seed starting mat or perhaps by setting them in a warm spot such as on top of the water heater) that should help speed things up.|
