My wife wants me to find and plant some green all year around bushes that won't have to be trimmed and grow to a height of approximately two feet. Can you make any recommendations?

There are several shrubs that will remain small at maturity, but may need occasional pruning to keep them in shape. Here are a few that should fit your needs: Japanese holly, Boxwood, Juniper, dwarf Nandina, dwarf mugo pine, Vaccinium (common blueberry) or Pieris.
