Black tips on the leaves can be a symptom of fertilizer burn, overwatering, underwatering, too much sun, too much heat, dry air, or drafts. You can probably rescue your little tree by replanting in fresh potting soil, withholding fertilizer, placing your plant where it gets bright light but not direct afternoon sunshine, and watering only when the top inch of soil dries out. If you want to feed your tree, use a half-strength solution of liquid fertilizer, applying every 3-4 weeks during periods of active growth. Hope your tree survives!
