Yellow Stripes On Rose Leaves - Knowledgebase Question

My roses have begun developing yellow stripes on the leaves. This is not at all similar to the round yellow spots that is the "black spot" symptom, although the yellow is about the same color. These are narrow stripes of yellow that cross the entire leaf. Any ideas?

The symptoms you describe sounds suspiciously like rose mosaic, a virus. The disease causes a yellow streaking, sometimes a zig-zag pattern, in leaves. The symptoms often show up in the spring, but not form on leaves that develop later in the summer. Theres not much you can do about it, and infected plants tend to be less vigorous, producing fewer blooms. If just a few leaves are affected, pick them off. If the entire plant is affected, it should be removed and destroyed.
