I have three large Filbert trees that produce empty nuts. What causes this problem and is there anyway to make them produce properly? |
If your filbert trees are not producing nuts, it's because the flowers are not being pollinated, or because you have ornamental Corylus rather than Corylus maxima, the fruiting filbert. You might want to take a flowering branch to your local Cooperative Extension office for positive identification. Contact Oregon State University Extension, Coquille Annex, 290 N. Central, Coquille 97423. (541) 396-3121, ext. 240. |
