|I have just purchased Morning Glory Seeds from Burpee. I knicked them with a nail file and they are soaking as I type. Can a permenently leave them in a 8" deep planter on my porch in full sun? I would like them to grow up through the lattice on the porch.
I am concerned that the roots will freeze in the winter. Can they be brought inside in the winter?
|Morning glories grow quite large, so an eight inch deep planter might be a bit cramped by the end of the summer; however if you are careful to water and fertilize regularly you might be successful with them. These plants are perennial in warm weather areas, but they are grown as annuals where temperatures fall below freezing. I am not sure how you would bring them indoors in the fall, but in any case these sun-lovers probably would not bloom for you under the reduced winter light conditions. Instead, most gardeners plant fresh seeds each spring.|
