I want to start broccoli seeds for a fall crop. When should I start them and what time should they go in the garden?

The rule of thumb for broccoli is to start the seeds indoors 16 weeks before the first expected fall frost and transplant them out about 9 weeks before frost. You should be able to harvest for about a month.
