Make a cut below a leaf on newer growth (rather than older, woody growth) that gives you about 3 inches of cutting. Remove any lower leaves. At this point, you can dip the stem in a rooting hormone if you choose, but most herb growers I know don't feel that it makes that much difference. Plant the stem in a growing medium with good water penetration and drainage. Keep moist, not wet, until roots start. Herbs are fairly easy to propagate from cuttings, so good luck!
