|I have three large hibiscus plants in my home greenhouse. Every spring the leaves turn yellow, new buds form and open, and the leaves drop off. They then recover in their outdoor, summer location. Why does this happen?|
|Changes in light intensity, watering, and temperature can all cause hibiscus to drop leaves. Remember that even on an "evergreen" plant leaves don't last forever, but will fall off as new growth continues down the branch. Spring is a typical time for this to happen on many plants.|
Just keep them moist but not soggy, feed them with moderate amounts of a soluble fertilizer once a week as you water, and give them as much light as you can. They should be off and blooming soon!
