Early Blooming Chrysanthemum - Knowledgebase Question

Mums which I planted out for fall color last year are now coming into bloom again. They have formed quite large bushes: should I leave them alone, or cut them back before they bloom- I worry that if I let them bloom now they will not bloom again in Fall.

I used to have the same problem but it was compounded by the fact that my mums were rather "leggy" and thin. I corrected the legginess and delayed bloom by cutting the mums back twice a year. In June, I cut back the chrysanthemums to 2" in height. In July, I cut them back to 6" in height. Since I have started doing this I have full, lush mums that bloom September through October.
