I searched several databases and the only palm I found with a common name that has blue in it, is the Mexican Blue Palm, or Brahea armata. It is an outdoor palm that can reach 25-30 feet in height and spreads 6-10 feet. It tolerates extremes of heat, cold, wind and a wide range of growing conditions. It's growth rate is slow. It can take partial shade or full sun. It's trunk width is 3 or more feet. This is a native of Mexico and it's water use is low once established--I don't know if it would thrive in the Philippines with so much moisture. I hope this information is useful to you! |
