I planted a fig tree. After a few days all the leaves fell off. What is going on?

If it dropped the leaves that soon after planting the cause is transplant shock. Either the roots dried out or were otherwise damaged in the transplanting process.

Give the tree a good soaking if you have not already done so, and it should grow some new leaves soon. Our southern summers are a stressful time for plants, especially new transplants.
