| I bought several flats of annual vincas that appeared very healthy when I purchased them. I planted them after all danger of frost had past. What I am noticing is that the flowers fall off quickly and those that remain on the seedlings appear very small and tattered. Can you tell me what the problem might be? |
| Most varieties of annual vinca might have flowers about an inch across, more or less, but they make up for the smallish size by blooming prolifically. They do best in full sun and in warmer temperatures, including warmer soil, and need a good rich soil well amended with organic matter plus adequate water. They should grow more quickly now that the weather has warmed up a bit. To help them along, you might wish to fertilize them with a liquid soluble fertilizer labeled for blooming plants if they are in containers, or if they are in the ground, make sure they have adequate water and fertility also.
