Stewartia pseudocamellia, Japanese Stewartia, is a magnificent small to medium-sized pyramidal-oval tree. The mature landscape size is 20'-40'. The dark green leaves may turn yellow, then red to darkish-purple in the fall. The flowers, appearing on the tops of the branches, appear in the early summer. Stewartia, in general, make striking specimens in the landscape, so put yours in a place where it can show off! Plant your tree in average garden soil, in a sunny spot. It is hardy to -22F.
