I grew Ipomopsis for the first time this year and they are really beautiful! I am not able to find out anything about them in any of my gardening books. Please could you let me have some background info about them. Are they a native? Are they perennial anywhere? Also any tips about growing - I have them in part sun here in NC.

Ipomopsis rubra, a common ornamental, is a biennial or short-lived perennial in your area. They're native to the southwestern and western coastal U.S. Other species are I. aggregata, I. longiflora. They prefer full sun, sandy, well-drained soil, and little water during the growing season. Enjoy!
