I have bell pepper, hot pepper, tomato, and egg plants. I went away for the long weekend, but before I left, there were some peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes. When I came back, I noticed that everything but the tomatoes were gone. I have a 4 ft. high fence, and I have been using this fence for 3 years. My neighbor suggested that a raccoon was doing this, because the plants themselves are intact, only the fruits are gone. Do you have any ideas on what's happening?

I suppose it is possible a raccoon stole your veggies, but I would have expected to see other evidence of its visit such as foot prints. If this is the case, a single strand of electric fence should work to deter them in future. In my experience critters tend to leave footprints or damage the plants beyond simply taking the veggies, so it is conceivable to me that an errant child picked them ... with some careful observation you should be able to identify the culprit.
