|What would cause the blossoms on fava beans to appear rotted? A few of the tips are black. The weather has been unseasonably ho t& dry here, could this be a contributing factor? What can be done at this point? Pull off the affected blossoms?
|Beans are subject to a wide number of fungal and disease problems with most of them being evident on the foliage or pods rather than the blossoms themselves. Based on your description I would suspect the cause is related to water stress, but to be on the safe side I would be careful to clean up and remove all plant debris as it occurs and at the end of the season. You might also check very carefully for any sign of insect damage. I'm sorry about your beans!
