I am buying a house and have small children. There are 13 oleander trees, and I would like to remove them. What is the best way to remove these trees?

Oleanders (Nerium) are evergreen shrubs with a maximum height of 10'-12'. If yours have reached this height, they've been growing for quite some time and it will be difficult to remove them. If you cut them down at ground level the stumps may sprout, or you may get suckers growing from the roots. I'd hire someone to dig them out, roots and all. All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested and many people are sensitive to the leaves, as well. If you do remove these plants, be sure to have the debris hauled away. Don't burn the branches, leaves or stems - the smoke can be quite toxic. Good luck with your project!
