Having grown up in Texas where Bermuda grass grows quite nicely, I was wondering if it might grow the same in the Pacific NW. Any information you can provide will be helpful. |
Bermuda is one of those warm season grasses that may look green during the month of August in the Pacific Northwest, but will look puny the remainder of the season. Likewise with Kentucky Blue Grass. The varieties of grasses that grow well in your area include fescues, chewings, and rye. A mixture of grasses will keep your lawn looking green throughout the year. Each type of grass will peak and look its best at a different time of the year, and will tolerate varying degrees of shade. |
