|When can I transplant amaryllis bulbs? I have had them for about 10 years and they have only bloomed once. They are still alive, just need to be moved to an area with more sunlight, I think.
|Amaryllis belladonna grows best in full sunshine, poor to average soil, and natural rainfall. If yours haven't flowered in a few years, they definitely need more sunshine! Move when they are dormant; late spring or early summer. If you move them at the wrong time, they won't bloom for several years. When replanting, set the bulb top at ground level.
