Wisteria sinensis is Chinese Wisteria, a climbing vine with divided leaves. The plants bloom in April and May, before the leaves fully expand. The flwoer clusters, about 1' long, are violet-blue and slightly fragrant. Chinese wisteria will grow in partial shade, planted in loose, well-draining soils.
