There are many varieties of hot peppers that have similar names, i.e., "Thai", "Thai Dragon", "Thai Giant", "Thai Hot" and "Thai Yellow". Some are grown primarily as ornamentals because they have such attractive foliage and brightly colored fruit. The peppers are, indeed, edible, but on most ornamental types the peppers are really, really hot. "The Pepper Gal" seed catalog describes 'Thai Hot' as "medium sized, spicy hot flavor; prolific."
