I planted many liatris last fall. Some bloomed and some came up, but never developed the long stem for the bloom. Any suggestions? |
This plants do best in a slightly sandy soil that is well drained during the winter. If the soil is too heavy (like clay) or too wet during the winter, they will struggle or even die. On the other hand, they seem to like plenty of moisture during the spring and summer when they are growing. If it has been dry, they may simply be failing to develop fully. In my experience, too, these plants may take a year to settle in after planting. |
