How do I prepare fava beans? Should they be blanched and frozen, dried or canned? Are they similar in taste to lima beans?

Fava beans are a good alternative to lima beans. You can harvest when the pods drop from their erect habit on the stem and droop down. Shell and cook as you would a green shell bean, or dry and use as a dried bean. Either way, their taste and texture is similar to lima beans.
