Trees and shrubs benefit from being transplanted in the cooler spring and fall months, rather than in the summer (when it's convenient for the gardener!). In Southern California you can plant during the winter months, as well. After transplanting be sure to supply water on a weekly basis, all year around, until your trees become established.
