Please give me some general information about growing Lysianthus in containers. For example: perennials or annuals, where to cut them so they will continue to grow more blooms, any difficulties to be aware of. Thanks.

Lisianthus, or Eustoma, is native to the high plains of the West, but garden forms have been introduced from Japan. Although plants are hardy to cold, they grow better and have longer stems where nights are warm. In summer, clumps of gray-green foliage send up 1 1/2' stems topped by tulip shaped flowers in purplish-blue, pink or white. Plants bloom all summer if old blooms are cut off. They make excellent plants for cutting gardens. Lisianthus thrive in average garden soil, in full sunshine, with regular water during the growing season. They are happy and hardy additions to any garden.
