Wood Craftsman Wanted - Knowledgebase Question

I have 7 wild cherry trees that I would like removed from my yard. These trees are quite tall 50 feet or so, with trunk diameters of a foot. I was wondering if this is something furniture craftsmen would be interested in. I would prefer to give the wood to someone who would turn it into a nice piece of furniture than have it chopped into fireword and sold from the back of someone's truck. How would I go about arranging for this?

What a lovely idea! You might try contacting your local craft guild, fine craft gallery, or antique dealers to see if they know of anyone locally who crafts furniture or does fine carving or possibly restoration work. Perhaps someone at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town AlexandriaVA or a similar organization could help you figure out how to "connect". Good luck with your quest!
