The hostas I planted last spring have turned brown and the leaves have curled. Could they be getting too much sun or not enough water? |
Yes to both possible causes. Hostas don't like being in the Deep South. To make them happy you must give them a bright, shady location (especially not afternoon sun), a soil with lots of organic matter added, and a planting area with excellent drainage. They also want to be kept moist, but should not be kept soggy wet. |
