|My 5 year old peony did fine all Spring and Summer - now (Sept) the leaves are drooping, even some curling up. I thought it might have something to do with very dry weather, but I have been watering deeply the last week or so, and no change.
|Sounds like your peony is under stress, either from environmental conditions or from a disease. Peonies generally lose their leaves with the first frost, so I'd suggest waiting until everything wilts. When that happens, cut back the foliage and stalks and remove them from the garden. If next spring's growth is misshapen or off-color, the plant may be diseased and we can track down the problem then. If the new growth looks normal, chalk up this year's late summer droopiness to extreme weather conditions.
