What methods can I employ to keep the cats from digging and destroying my flower garden? I have tried fox urine, mothballs, and vinegar. There is no place to put crumpled chicken wire, what can I do?

Cats are difficult to control! Some gardeners have reported luck with home made remedies such as placing clippings from thorny branches between the plants, other have used garlic based sprays on the garden with some success. Still others report good results from using the commercial animal repellents such as "Get Away" (available from Burpee 1-800-888-1447). In my experience a pet dog worked as a good deterrent. In some areas there are ordinances about trespassing cats, too.
